Q: What happens during a lactation consultation?
A: Every consultation is a partnership. We'll discuss your challenges and goals, I'll observe a feeding session (in-person or via video), perform an oral assessment of your baby, and do a weighted feed if applicable. Together, we'll create a personalised, sustainable care plan before the session ends.Q: Do I need a 90-minute in-home consult, or is a virtual session enough?
A: An in-home consult is best for complex issues like persistent pain, low milk supply, poor weight gain, or if you simply want a comprehensive, hands-on assessment. A virtual consult is ideal for follow-ups, confident latch checks, pumping plans, and troubleshooting specific questions.Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: I require 24 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling. This allows me to offer the spot to another family. Late cancellations are subject to a fee of. Refer to my Client Agreement, Informed Consent & Liability Waiver. -
Q: What is your investment, and what does it include?
A: My consultations are an investment in your confidence and peace of mind. The fee includes our dedicated session time, a detailed written care plan, and follow-up support via email/text. Please see the Services & Pricing page for current rates.Q: Do you offer any package deals or discounts?
A: Yes! I offer a "New Parent Support Package" that combines a Virtual Prenatal Breastfeeding Preparation Class with a Home Visit at 15% off. Contact me for more details. -
Q: How is your prenatal workshop different from others?
A: My workshops focus exclusively on the mind-body connection for feeding and the parent-baby relationship. We don't cover general baby care like swaddling or bathing. Instead, we dive deep into the science of lactation, building your intuitive confidence, and preparing for a joyful feeding journey from birth through the fourth trimester.Q: Can I bring my partner to the workshops?
A: Absolutely! Partners are encouraged to attend. Their support is invaluable, and the workshops are designed to equip you both as a team.Q: What if I need to miss a group workshop I've booked?
A: Please contact me as soon as possible. I will do my best to transfer your registration to another scheduled session, subject to availability. -
Q: How soon can I get an appointment?
A: I often have same-day or next-day availability. The online booking calendar will show you all real-time open slots.Q: What is your scope of practice as an IBCLC?
A: As an IBCLC, I am an expert in lactation and feeding. I can assess oral function and provide clinical feeding management. I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions like tongue-ties but can provide guidance and refer you to appropriate healthcare providers (like paediatric dentists or ENTs) for further evaluation.Q: What is the "Milk & Mindfulness" add-on?
A: This is an optional session focusing on the mind-body connection. Using hypnotherapy and relaxation techniques, we work to reduce feeding anxiety and stress, which can physically inhibit milk release. It's a wellness tool to complement clinical care.
